Day Five - The Second Rose

Dominique made sure to get breakfast first thing in the morning.
Since she didn't win the challenge, there was no way she was going to have hunger pains while she was talking to Giovani!

Dominique bumped into Emma on her way out of the kitchen.  "Oops, 'xcuse me," she said apologetically.
"So, what did you think about the dance-a-thon?" Dominique asked, trying to be friendly.
"Why? What'd you hear?" Emma asked, worrying about her little accident while trying to decide if she should leave the theater.

Dominique glanced at her with confusion.  "Uh.. what?"
"Umm... nothing," Emma said quickly.

Giovani hopped in the shower, splashing his face with water.
"Oh god, I'm so sorry!" Jasmin said when she walked in without walking.  She quickly averted her eyes after getting an eyeful.
"GET OUT!" Giovani shouted, hopping out of the shower and quickly throwing his clothes on.
Jasmin hurried from the room, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Giovani stepped out of the bathroom minutes later, running straight into Jasmin.  "Oh my God, I am so sorry! I didn't know anyone was in there!" she apologized profusely.
Gio shrugged it off.  "No harm, no foul, right?" he said casually.  It wasn't every day a hottie walked in on him in the shower.  "It happens..."
Jasmin started hopping from foot to foot.  "Um, excuse me!" she panted, interrupting him mid-sentence and hurrying into the bathroom.

(AN: Dang it! I never should have had him talk to Jasmin first.  She apparently really, really, really needed to go to the bathroom & has now lost her chance to have a "friendly" interaction with the bachelor!)

"I really wish I had been brave enough to head home with you," Emma admitted to Staci.  "Even the cameramen left without me."
After such a dismal conversation with Jasmin, Gio headed over to the livingroom where a few of the other ladies were talking.  His gaze landed on Emma.  Sweet girl.
"So, tell me more about yourself," Giovani told her in an effort to know each other better.

Emma hesitated briefly.  "Well? What would you like to know?" she asked.

"Ummmm," Giovani thought for a moment.  "Maybe what your favorite movie is?"

"Oh! It would have to be Fried Green Tomatoes! It always makes me cry!"
Giovani cocked his head as he considered her.  "Why would you like a movie that makes you cry?" he asked.

She shrugged with embarrassment.  "I dunno," she said, clamming up.  "I guess I just like chick flicks.  That's probably really boring to you," she added, kicking herself.
"I'll tell you a secret," he said, leaning in close.  "I used to watch chick flicks with my mamma.  She was all about the romantic comedies."

"Aw!" Emma said.  "How sweet!"  He watched chick flicks with his mom!

"Shh.. but don't tell anyone or you're ruin my image!" he teased.  "If anyone asks, I like action-packed movies!"
Jasmin walked by Giovani and Emma as they talked, disappointed that she'd botched the morning so badly.  Not only did she walk in on him and embarrass the living daylights out of both of them, but she also missed her one-on-one date with him.

God! She needed a drink!
Ariel watched Emma giggle with Giovani and felt a spurt of irritation.  They'd been talking foreverTime to nip that talk in the bud!
"Morning Gio!" she said brightly, stepping between Emma and Giovani, smiling when Emma grumpily left the conversation.
"Morning Ariel," he answered, glancing over her shoulder at DeDe, who was dirty dancing in the livingroom.  A little distracted, he fumbled the conversation.  "Uh... so... what is she doing?" he asked, the conversation sputtering to a complete halt.

Ariel turned and glanced over her shoulder, glaring at DeDe.

Giovani caught Staci's eye and headed over to chat with her next.
"Oh my gosh! I can't believe she walked in on you!" Staci chuckled after he told her why Jasmin was hitting the juice so early.  "She must've been so embarrassed!"

"I think I was more embarrassed than she was!" he admitted.

"Lucky girl!" Staci teased.  "I should've thought about walking in on you!"

Giovani glared at Staci mock-sternly.  "You better not! I'll have to walk in on you then!"
Staci smacked his shoulder.  "You pig!" she teased.

Giovani was having a good time joking around with Staci and was disappointed when she headed to the kitchen to grab a bite to eat.
He patted Jasmin on the shoulder.  "It's okay Jasmin. Don't worry about it," he said before heading over to have a chat with DeDe.
"It's nice to see someone letting loose and having some fun," Giovani told her.  "I really liked your moves at the dance-a-thon."
"Are you calling me a hoochie mama?" DeDe demanded.  "Because just because I used to strip for a living doesn't mean I'm a hoochie mama!"
Giovani was taken aback by DeDe's aggressive attack.  "No, girl! I was just complementing your dance moves!  I didn't mean anything by it!"
"WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY?" she demanded angrily.

Giovani threw his hands up in the air.  "Whatever. I'm done with this conversation!" he said, turning on his heel and walking away.
He found Dominique upstairs, napping.  He'd knocked on the door and peeked in the room.  "Are you awake?" he asked.

Dominique rolled out of bed.  "I'm sorry, I woke up super early.  I was just taking a quick nap," she told him, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
"It's really hard getting used to the weird hours here, huh?"
Dominique nodded. "Tell me about it! And there's always camera-men hanging around and... well... it's not home, right?"

"Are you homesick?" Gio asked her.

Dominique smiled shyly.  "A little.  But, it's still really fun doing this.  There are a lot of nice girls here, and of course, there's you...  It's been great getting to know you."

Giovani smiled.  "It's been really great getting to know you, too, Dominique."

***

Ariel cringed as she headed towards the rose ceremony.  "I'm so nervous," she worried.
Giovani stood before the ladies and nervously reviewed his speech.  "Ladies, could Dominique and DeDe please step forward," he said with reluctance.
"Both of you ladies stand before me tonight as the bottom two choices," he announced.  "This gets harder and harder," he admitted.

DeDe flipped her hair over her shoulder, convinced that she would come out ahead of Dominique.
"DeDe, you gave it your all at the dance-a-thon, but it's kind of hard to overlook some of your inappropriate behavior."  He ignored DeDe's indignant gasp.  "And Dominique, I've really enjoyed getting to know you better.  You really put yourself out there today, but it's been hard getting to know you up until now."

He paused.

"Dominique, I hope you'll continue letting me get to know you."

Gio passed the red bouquet of roses to DeDe and leaned in to press a kiss on her cheek.  Irate, she wheeled back and dropped the roses on the ground, stomping on them.  "You can't eliminate me!"

DeDe was escorted by force to the Confessional Room.  The camera recorded her tirade.  "*BLEEP*  This show was *BLEEP* stupid!"
"Who do they *BLEEP* think they are anyway? Everyone could *BLEEP* see I was the prettiest contestant! They're all a bunch of *BLEEP* cows!"
Sneering, she pinned the cameraman with a glare.  "Get that *BLEEP* camera out of my *BLEEP* face!"
